Dublin news LIVE: Education Minister’s message for students as Leaving and Junior Cert begin, traffic updates

Students across Ireland are gearing up as the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams are set to begin today.

Over 130,000 students will be sitting the State exams after two years of having the option of predicted grades.

Speaking to pupils across the country, Education Minister Norma Foley said this morning: “It has been a challenging two years and many demands were placed upon your shoulders.

“But you have met every single challenge with resilience, determination, focus, and goodwill. I am confident that all the work you put in these past few years will stand you in good stead.”

In other news, the current waiting times for Dublin Airport passengers are as follows:

  • Terminal 1: 15 mins
  • Terminal 2: 15 mins

A man was taken to hospital following a car crash on the N7 on Tuesday night.

Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade were at the scene of the collision at Saggart at 8.55pm.

One of the drivers was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, a garda spokesman confirmed.
